5 Tea Time Snacks you can eat on a diet!

SEPTEMBER 04, 2017

‘ When your day seems stormy as can be, there’s nothing quite tranquil as a nice hot cup of tea ’.

So many people around the world can’t do without their daily dose of tea. For a lot of us Indians, ‘chai’ is what helps us get through the day. And tea seems incomplete without our favorite tea time snacks – to dip, to munch, to feast on!

Well, however much we may love them, our lifestyles today don’t allow us to gorge on these fried snacks. The first rule of any diet – stop eating fried food! But who said this means you’ll never eat that ‘Khari biscuit’ again? ????

We, at DIP Foods, are working everyday to make your favorite tea-time snacks. The only twist is – THEY ARE BAKED!

  1. Wholewheat Khari

This is one of the most favorite tea-time accompaniments called the Khari biscuit or Puff Pastry. Dipping these in tea and eating is something we all love to do. SO the challenge was to retain the same light, rich, crispy texture with the melt-in-your-mouth kind of taste, but with a dramatically lower fat content.

We spent months trying to perfect this and we achieved a 30% lower fat content as compared to market alternatives. It is also made out of wholewheat. So grab a bite of the DIP Khari Biscuit guilt-free now!

  1. Baked Bhakarwadi

An absolute delight of a snack, this Maharashtrian speciality has been our toughest one to crack to far. Bhakarwadi is a crispy, fried, sweet and salty snack that is quite time consuming to make and requires a lot of oil too. DIP Baked Bhakarwadi has 75% less oil as compared to the regular ones available at supermarkets. And there’s one thing we can assure – you wouldn’t be able to guess the difference!

  1. Classic Rusk

Rusk dipped in sweetened milk or tea was my favorite afternoon snack back in the school days. One of the healthiest snacks available, rusk is a hard, twice-baked, dehydrated bread that has a high nutritional value. It is fascinating how many names this humble food is known by like Rusk & Khasta in India, Biscotti in France, Melba Toast in USA, Paximadi in Greece and so on.

DIP Classic Rusks are prepared keeping in mind true origins using the best available ingredients. DIP rusks contain no preservatives. Simply dip them in your tea or coffee and experience the melting sweetness in mouth. Simply delicious.

  1. Baked Methi Muthia

Methi Muthia is a delectable Gujarati snack which is deep fried and flavoured excitingly with methi(fenugreek) and other ingredients. The tasty flavor and crunchiness make them very versatile and can be eaten plain or with dals, curry or vegeables (Undhiyu). DIP Baked Methi Muthia have upto 80% less oil and are a great substitute for the fried version. They are made with natural ingredients and are ready to eat!

  1. Baked Masala Sticks

It was no accident that we hit upon the final shape of Masala Sticks! We were working on a baked version of the traditional chakri (yes, the spiral, deep fried snack that is irresistible yet sinful), but was proving to be a challenge to get a consistently well baked spiral shape. Baking process has its limitations too!

So we decided to make them into a crunchy all-time snack that is easier to eat and tastier that your chakri ever could be. What’s even better? The DIP Baked Masala Sticks contain 90% less oil and are a great alternative for your diet snacks!

We hope to have given you some great alternatives for your diet food. Hope you think of us every time you enjoy that cup of tea. ????
