Healthy Snacks for a Family Road Trip

You can already feel the slight dip in temperature, winter seems to be slowly settling in which calls for morning treks and road trips on the weekends. It’s a dreadful experience during summer and a little difficult to do during heavy monsoons, but a lot more convenient during calm winters. Road trips are a great way to escape the city noise and feel rejuvenated and also brings the family together. Whether your trip is going to be short or long, it’s always nice to have some nourishing and energizing snacks that you make you feel good about feeding your family along the way. The key to nourishing snacks is combining healthy, high fiber carbohydrates with satiating protein and healthy fats. Everyone seems happier when they have something to munch on. And, for children, eating a snack can distract them from other issues.

Just because you are on a vacation does not mean that you have to spend loads of money on expensive, unhealthy snacks for your family. You can easily plan road trip snacks for your family to munch on that are not full of sugar and will not break the bank. 1. Veggies and Hummus.

You can cut up carrots, bell peppers, sweet potato and bring pre-portioned packages of hummus for dipping. By doing so you ensure that you consume your daily dose of vegetables and all the good nutrients even when you’re on vacation!
